TU Sheng-Chun, who grew up in Heping Island, Keelung, has a strong attachment to this island and ocean that drives him to create. The Other Side of the Sea a work in ink is an incarnation of bridge, island and home, an island on the shimmering sea, an obtriangular bridge stretching to the other side of the island. The island, bridge and dirftwood are the three elements forming the picture, the island stands for the idea and profile of home, the bridge for the connection to home, and the driftwood presents the attachment to the island; with integrity, TU Sheng-Chun’s imagination and structure of the island is shown, expressing how much he misses his hometown.
