LIU Wen-Hsuan works on painting, paper art, photography, and deliberates on the nature of the mediums. In the work Death Is a Dialogue between the Spirit and the Dust, the white watercolor paper was painted with pink fluorescent paint, curled and pasted onto the acrylic board becoming the pink sphere in the middle and forming a sculpture-like texture. The rendering differs depending on the light and makes the sculpture painting-like. From pieces of paper to integrity, LIU Wen-Hsuan opens up a conversation of macro and micro, the painting is interwoven with abstract graphics and three-dimensional things, - inspiring a new imaginations of painting.
