The ink paintings from HUANG Chien-Lun attempt to elaborate on issues such as family, social reality and environment, with imagination of self-experience and memory. In the work, The Island After Decayed-2, she transforms her personal experience into a shape of an island. The island is constantly expanding and growing, and it is filled with genetic symbols of fruit, robotic army, and black smoke. In the picture, a cat-shaped robot is a character named “Mi Jiang”. They have unified and cute appearance and can stick on all unknown sorrows on the island. Through these combinations of images, HUANG Chien-Lun tries to present a script that tells the sadness of the era.
