LIN Shu-Jou's creations are mostly related to life and land. The inspiration comes from the pollution and hunting of the ocean by people. The work, She did not know the song’s name, tells the story about a fish in a marine biology museum. This fish has beautifully patterned scales. It must be presented in front of the audience every day, playing a free-living fish. Even though it does not know the name of the song, it can still dance beautifully, and after a while, it eventually becomes a weird fish with empty eyes. The fish is still beautiful, but it has forgotten the warm melody of the ocean. Using an illustration-like method, LIN Shu-Jou gradually outlines the colorful and symbolic images through detailed and repeated lines, and with symbolic visual images, tells the sorrow of nature and organisms under humans’ invasion.
