LIN Chia-Yu's painting, Interference, uses lines as the main composing element. In the three pictures, the lines are shaped with various lengths and thicknesses, and are sometimes gathered together, and sometimes scattered. As if being subjected to a certain external force, the lines show an attracting dynamic much like a physical force. The directional cues and cold-toned colors give the picture a metallic feel and form a beautiful, mechanical-like image full of dynamic vitality. LIN Chia-Yu constructs abstract painting with lines, showing the flow state of the consciousness when disturbed and also expressing the endless dialectic for an outside world full of unknowns.
