LIN Chia-Yu's painting, Silent Observer, uses lines as the main constituting element of the picture. Lines of varying thickness are arranged in a sometimes regular and sometimes chaotic manner, spreading outward from the center. The regular lines are expressed in translucent cold-toned colors, giving the picture a metallic feel and forming a beautiful, mechanical-like image full of dynamic vitality. The direction pointed and the cold color tone produced by the large accumulation of lines based on the silent construction of the painted gray field, reflecting the projections on the outside world. LIN Chia-Yu sees herself as a silent observer, using lines as an intermediary for communication to express an endless dialectic for an outside world full of unknowns.
