The Paper Planet

CHOU Yu-Hsu's photographic work, The Paper Planet, uses the commonly seen metal fencing in the city as his subject for photography and creation. He photographs the iron sheet with a square composition. The iron sheet has a vertical and uneven texture, and due to the long exposure under sun and rain outdoors, it is left with a mottled mark. The surface of the iron sheet has a lot of glue residue from the pasting of advertisements, and some flyers are still on it. With a black and white image and the removal of colors, the surface texture of the iron sheet is enriched by the changes in brightness and shadows caused by the light, which looks like the surface of a certain planet in the universe. CHOU Yu-Hsu uses photography to transform things that exist in everyday life and sees the city that we live in from a different perspective.
