WANG Mei-Ling’s painting Flowery Age-Casual Encounter is one of the series of works developed from the perspective of women, reflecting on the meaning of youth to women. With a fine brushstroke, she paints her work bit by bit, slowly laying out and constructing a visual image of floating leaves. Through the different shades of green, she shows the drifting leaves on the surface of the water. Under a closer examination, one can actually see that the green leaves are actually dotted with bright red petals. WANG Mei-Ling attempts to interpret both the sweetness and the bitterness of life through painting. For her, without water, there would be no floating leaves, and no encounters with each other. In the current of life, the encounter makes us care about each other.
