CHENG Hsiu-Ju pays attention to relationships between "home space", "objects", and human senses and memories. The work, Scenes / Landscape #2, pieces together the space in daily life using two different logical perspectives. One perspective is the first person's point of view in the space, and the other is the canvas and mosaic tile pattern, a plane connected through intersection. The juxtaposition of the two perspectives transforms the originally familiar space into a space that is difficult to measure and align. The image that is left blank deliberately is like the vacancy in memory and time and space, and mosaic patterns evoke the familiar and intimate relationship between people and their homes. CHENG Hsiu-Ju responds to the complex and perceptual relationship between people and homes with a seemingly contradictory but uncompromising space.
