HUANG Mei-Hui often uses prints and fibers as a medium of expression. The work, I am a Small Pumpkin, is a series of creations of fiber materials. "54" refers to the popular numerical language usage, meaning "I am”. “I am a Small Pumpkin” has an interesting implication of talking to oneself. The Taiwanese translation of "pumpkin" is "gold melon", and the full shape of the pumpkin has the meaning of wealth and fertility. The use of stockings, cotton, wool, wool felt and other materials in the work is rich in layers. The exaggerated shape of dense seeds being squeezed and burst open is also a showcase of various derivation and magical fantasy. HUANG Mei-Hui magnifies the infinite possibilities and explosive power of different life forms using bright colors and varied shapes.
