HUANG Mei-Hui’s artistic inspirations are derived from everyday life in Tainan. Detailed observations of her surrounding ecology have been made and mixed with imaginative elements to generate print arts that express wondrous fantasies. The Urban Landscape series is composed of 4 prints creatively inspired by the corners of Tainan City. The first panel illustrates a dilapidated house with giant green hands reaching for the skies from the cracks of the roof. The second panel displays a small verdant swamp surrounded by thick shrubs. The third mainly depicts an old well with ample water for supporting lush herbaceous plants. The fourth panel shows a red colored swamp breeding new forms of humanoid beings that have even achieved the powers of flight. HUANG Mei-Hui’s works are filled with wonderful organisms and lively narratives, with a dazzling array of colors that displays the vitality of her artistic approach. HUANG Mei-Hui’s observations of surrounding objects and escape from the boundaries of the material world allow her to achieve limitless fantasies and imaginations.
