HUANG Yen-Chao’s Uncanny Simulation Material is part of his Weightlessness series that illustrates everyday objects. This particular work shows a plastic basin and a metal bucket, two items that are typically mass produced in factories. These items are reassembled and given plenty of metaphorical textures and colors. The work conveys the material nature of everyday objects while liberating the artist’s inner energy and sensations. HUANG Yen-Chao integrates sculpting and painting in an attempt to reflect the chaos and disorder behind modern life that was supposed to symbolize order and civilization.
