Meika Walis is a member of the Seediq people and generates works that depict the spiritual and cultural landscapes of his tribe. The Silhouette of Hunters is a cubist painting of brave Seediq warriors garbed in different colored capes and robes that represent the traditional dresses of the Seediq men. The warriors also wore head bands and ear pendants decorated with shells while wielding long blades that highlight their extraordinary identity and heroic deeds. Meika Walis uses this painting to reminisce about the brave warriors led by the chief Mona Rudao and to provide a memorial for the young generations to pay their respects.
