T.J. Chiang’s Swimming is part of his Taiwan’s Panorama series. This photographic work is an attempt to document the nature of true art. He uses panoramic, wide angle photography techniques to capture sceneries around Taiwan. This particular scenery shows an urban pavement next to high rise buildings. Every element in the photograph was stripped of its color, leaving only vivid red hues on the swimming character shown on the advertisement billboard at the center. T.J. Chiang uses unique visuals, arrangements, and aesthetics to remove color from photographs, and aligns actual and virtual elements together for the purpose of depicting the various phenomena of this island.
