KO Liang-Chih is a skilled calligrapher and regards Chinese characters as a form of visual art for conveying personal aesthetics and emotional states. Bei-Tou Story is an inspection of Beitou where the artist has lived and worked for 8 years. A combination of objects and calligraphy provide a canvas that condenses aspects of the artist’s life. The work included the spots where he walked and took photographs with friends. Calligraphic characters of classical eastern literature were displayed with the aim of conveying the emotional experience that the artist had when touring these landscapes. KO Liang-Chih focuses on his current life and uses calligraphy as a medium to convey fantasies and experiences of personal lifestyles.
