TANG Tang-Fa focuses on creating art based on everyday life. Everyday items in the lives of Taiwanese people are often used as the subject of his artwork so as to convey the unique cultural landscape of Taiwanese society. Vegetable Stall is from an art project where he rented a stall in the produce market. Instead of selling fresh produce, fish, or meat, the artist sold these grocery items which were painted instead. A diverse selection of produce coupled with plastic bags, shading clothes, and carton boxes typically used by stall owners help create an accurate rendition of an actual produce stall. TANG Tang-Fa uses paintings and installation art to allow public access to artworks for the purposes of nourishing their aesthetic lifestyles and displaying the vibrant artistic elements that exist in the lives of ordinary Taiwanese people.
