CHAN Chih-Ping is skilled in using wooden sculptures to provide a realistic presentation of the human form while capturing the essence of various events we see today. Mini-cosplay~Mickey shows a nude woman in a standing pose wearing only a Mickey Mouse hairband and a white glove on her hand, an outfit that reminds people of the famous Disney character Mickey Mouse. The woman herself wears a placid expression, suggesting the subconscious state of stupor that people experience under the influence of popular culture. The skin is deliberately presented in a flowing form as a subtle metaphor for complicated interpersonal and inner relationships and portions of the body that have been lost through the process. CHAN Chih-Ping uses symbols and metaphors to reflect upon changing cultural values in the face of popular culture and capitalism.
