KUO I-Chen uses a poetic and emotional vocabulary to explore the nature of life that does not exist. “Survivor Project- 41°N, 74°W” is a prophecy of the future that simulates the past. The art depicts a composition based on major historical disasters collected online, including the 911 terrorist attack, the great South Asian tsunami, aftermath of hurricane Katrina, the Iraq War, air disasters, and earthquakes. These images have been digitally combined to create an apocalyptic setting. The exploration vehicle named Survivor is attempting to look for surviving messages left by the human race in this ruined world. The slogan that reads “I’m Still Here” seems to be a declaration of one such survivor in this future history.
