WU Chia-Yun is a creative photographer using movies, video devices, and photographic skills as medium. “A Line Tells” is an attempt to explore time, the abstract nature of video images. Four images of different scenery were deliberately sewed together or hollowed out and combined with a matching material to initiate a dialog between lines of different states within the images. Such materials include hairball, ribbons on a tree, or marking lines on a flight of stairs. WU Chia-Yun breaks down the boundaries dividing the world inside and outside the picture to build links between an internal and external dimension. The photographic image is allowed to go beyond its frame to extend into other possibilities.
