KUO Pei-Chi uses light-hearted and humorous multimedia devices to interpret the structure of the convoluted contradictions in political power. Sound Portrait - Taiwan Series provides portraits of 5 politicians in Taiwan using musical notation, the sheet music provided are the theme songs that the artist has selected for the political leaders, such as Hot Meat Dumplings, Waiting for Spring, and I Love China. When reaching the portraits of politicians displayed on the sheet music, the smooth music will turn into complex groups of sound and become incoherent noises. Just like the politicians displayed on the sheet music, the orderly status hides an irrational political ecology. KUO Pei-Chi combines sound and images as a critic against the absurdity of power and politics.
