CHANG Chan combines digital images with multimedia to identify absurd and false kindness portrayed in stereotypical happy lifestyles and to identify rifts between reality and truth. The Traffic Accident adopts the perspective of a surveillance camera and records a daily traffic scene. The video shows cars crossing the intersection continuously, yet as Internet videos of traffic accidents have saturated our visual excitements, when focusing on the screen, the viewer expect an accident to happen in the next second. However, this video shows only a smooth streaming loop of incident-free traffic. CHANG Chan refers to the behavior as “brain supplement”, where people imagine and expect various events that occur only within their mind.
