LU Chin-Lung’s glue painting artwork Fragments of Memory of the City presents the beautiful residual fragments of one’s memory. The hazy background reveals only blurry images and outlines of buildings, traffic signs, utility posts, shades, bicycles, and balconies. Even the sky and roads are hidden from view. External appearances and outlines of the buildings are not important. An observer may release the burdens of reality related to figurative explorations and instead immerse themselves in the harmonious atmosphere exuded by the architectural structures. Even an unassuming corner may be presented in a surreal form to convey a divine aesthetic.
