HUNG Yun-Ting’s Untitled depicts the products of modern civilization and industries with paper. Large battleships, combat aircraft, missiles, and even smaller appliances such as televisions as well as furniture and kitchen utensils are arranged throughout the artwork. The wide range of items and their categories meant that individual items are extremely different, yet everything is given the same color and neatly arranged in identical sizes. HUNG Yun-Ting created these artificial inventions as an analogy of an increasingly uniform world without any personality after mechanization and modernization and as a metaphor of the normalizing forces of globalization. The only oddity of this composition seems to be the uniformity of scale.
