TSAI Yi-Hsun’s Shadow Play (40frame / 2420kb) Shows. A Big Puppet (26frame / 2650kb) Goes around was inspired by shadow puppet shows and narrates the existence and conditions of people in a modern lifestyle. The two animations show two different puppet shows. The first shows a mighty deity while the other shows a dishonorable character wielding knives and spears. The presence of the puppeteer was deliberately highlighted in both puppet shows in order to establish the relationship between the controller and the controlled. TSAI Yi-Hsun uses puppet shows as a metaphor of actual life, simulating the human drama of life that goes on around us.
