LIU Hsiao-Hui’s Salt and Foam is a behavioral artwork based upon the natural environment. The work is a photograph taken at Qixingtan in Hualien during winter. 50 kilograms of coarse salt were used to create a meandering white line that follows the contour extending along the gravel banks. LIU Hsiao-Hui attempted to establish a harmonious coexistence between her artworks and nature, personally carrying out actions not impacting the natural environment in order to converse with the natural world and explore the various meanings of life.
