HUANG Hua-Chen’s works portray relationships between nature and people while communicating emotions and the sense of belonging. Your Song is composed of three works of decreasing sizes in order to create an abstract extension of mental concepts. The first panel shows a man dressed in a blue shirt with his hand placed against his forehead as though deep in troubling thoughts. The second panel is an assembly of an irregular black octagon, a yellow triangle, and three white triangles that together form the complete panel while representing an abstract extension of the first. The third panel shows a line of birds slowly flying across a gray sky. HUANG Hua-Chen attempted to use art as a tool to investigate the experience of life as one ages, to convey the emotional warmth as people come together and leave, and to generate an atmosphere of gentleness and simplicity.
