Chen Tzung-Her carries out field investigations to collect art materials, using camera lens to capture local Taiwanese landscapes to create works that help viewers appreciate cultural elements with their hearts and mind. Impression@monument.Tainan is a set of six photographs that depict old Tainan City. Changing light and shadows reflect the texture and atmosphere of traditional architecture. Forgotten corners, archways, and old walls are shown in an artistic form that resemble impressionist illustrations. Citadel walls worn down by the ages and shadow casted by ancient trees weave a silent tale of historical legacies. Chen Tzung-Her selected simple settings and meticulously controlled the finest details to create works that allow viewers to reminisce about the histories of the Old Town of Taiwan.
