CHEN Tsung-Ho is an extremely experienced and award-winning photographer. He has carried out numerous field studies with his camera to collect various themes and unique aspects of Taiwanese society and culture. The Historic Wall is a collection of 6 photographs of 6 different walls, which include weather-beaten building exteriors, inner partitions of abandoned abodes with calendars and posters left behind by the previous occupier, and a forgotten slab standing alone in a pile of rubble. Each of these 6 walls tells a unique story. To CHEN Tsung-Ho, walls are vessels of memories that preserve historical moments. Years into the future, these walls shall continue to offer unsuspecting passers by a reminder to reflect on the nature of memory itself.
