WANG An-Sheng is a professional photographer and artist with several decades of experience. He has captured different cultural moments, and his works are known for its literary and poetic aesthetics. Time Tunnel is a photograph that captures an enigmatic bend within a tunnel. The particulate texture and detailed shadows imposed on the air, tunnels, and shadows of the pedestrians on the meandering paths as well as overlapping bright and dark areas add to the picture’s narration, cleverly superimposing our simple ideas of time tunnels. In this black, gray, and white world, WANG An-Sheng employed light and shadow effects to generate clean flowing curves and a sense of velocity by following the depths of the tunnels and wall reflections, giving viewers a feel that they are heading towards an unknown destination.
