作品賞析
HUANG Fa-Cheng has used his creativity and various media to communicate strange phenomenon observed during natural calamities. In Group Diving-1, HUANG Fa-Cheng made use of brushstrokes used in Shanshui painting as well as pictures of actual landslides taken from the Internet in order to depict natural landforms. The work represents an attempt to explore the relationship between people and nature by using traditional Shanshui painting. The house in the picture has been severely toppled after being hit by a landslide, while figures performing professional diving moves literally rain from the sky, forming an irrational and unessential connection with the disastrous calamity presented in the artwork. HUANG Fa-Cheng used natural calamities in order to invoke viewers to reflect upon the environment, and added unrelated symbols to criticize the media’s preposterous reports of actual calamities.
