JHONG Jiang-Ze’s work, The Garden of Celestial Peach, is derived from Chinese traditional folklore. The oriental land of fairies and deities has been re-imagined using ultra-realist elements as well western art techniques and perspectives. JHONG Jiang-Ze used extremely thin lines to illustrate the fruits and branches, which together forms thin meandering paths that appear like elegant birds in flight that dart back and forth along the canvas. Soft and gentle peaches from the divine orchard are subtly depicted under flowing clouds and mists. This “divine landscape” stands for an extension of the real world, manifested through an artistic creation to bring this once unimaginable fantasy into our midst, achieving our dreams to search for paradise. JHONG Jiang-Ze also applied calligraphic brushstrokes and art styles into oil painting. His spontaneous and natural approach symbolizes his search of abstract freedom, developing a personal symbol that generates powerful vitality through the process of creation.
