LIU Mei-Ling is a Chinese ink painter and believes that life must be filled with creativity and that there is always somebody to learn from in every moment of life. Such progressive approaches serve as the most important driving force of her creation. LIU Mei-Ling uses traditional Chinese ink painting approaches to explore the possibilities of integrating Chinese and Western media, creating a series of modern Chinese ink artworks. In Delight: Surging Suite No. 24, LIU Mei-Ling used “marbling” techniques where ink is first dripped into water and allowed to spread before placing the paper over the water surface. As the paper moves about, splashes of water impacts its surface to form a powerful symphony of wave surges. LIU Mei-Ling wishes to convey to the viewers of the potential of such techniques in generating positive energy and sustain her passion for artistic creation.
