作品賞析
LIN Mei-Hui grew up in a farm of Taichung and enjoys the natural scenery of the fields. As society changed, however, farming villages began to be invaded by haphazardly built factories and warehouses, taking apart and destroying the farmlands and hill slopes. To LIN Mei-Hui, these metal constructions are the murderous tools that have destroyed the environment. Gradually Evanishing Scenery 8 shows a blue corrugated iron sheet dissecting a landscape that should otherwise be covered in green pastoral meadows. The right side of the composition was supposed to be a verdant paddy field, yet entirely covered in shade of gray. Cold tones and brushwork were used to criticize the loss of once beautiful landscapes. LIN Mei-Hui has stood by as a silent witness to the transformation of our villages and has used her brushstroke to illustrate the guilty tools that have destroyed our farmlands and rustic landscapes, letting viewers reflect upon our actions.
