作品賞析
HU Shu-Han is a pioneer working with combinations of different media. In The Bug Ecology, HU Shu-Han made use of an abstract technique to represent lines of flowing water. Irregular material and intersecting techniques convey display the random overlapping of temporal and spatial dimensions. Overall composition is complicated and tightly knit, generating a powerful visual effect containing various transformations. Black and white tones were used as the main tones to highlight the different parts of an insect such as the bent sickles. The canvas portrays an impactful depiction of ecological characteristics that go beyond the constraints of the canvas, breathing new life into the entire work. HU Shu-Han’s works include oil paintings, ink paintings, and composite materials, and thus her work would naturally include elements from all these fields, forming a unique style of creation when combined with her pioneering concepts.
