LIN Yu-Chun’s work, Sky River Star Country, is composed of four separate panels and illustrates a realm that lies between the mortal world and the high heavens. The upper portion of the work is dominated by the stars, while the lower part depicts the heavenly river, with white spider lilies of the afterlife blooming along the banks. Four massive legs of the legendary turtle are in place to prevent the stars from collapsing upon the world. LIN Yu-Chun has obtained his inspiration from Indian folklore. The illustration of the stars and galaxies of the universe represent his fantasies and attempts to explore the mysteries of our universe and beyond. The work also hints at the innermost spirituality of the artist, his dreams for a world of innocence, and his limitless fantasies for the entire universe.
