YEH Fang regards creation as a divine spirit in the journey of life, and her pieces have served as a means of reliving the most energetic moments of her life. In Dancing Together, a pair of peonies in full bloom, one peach and the other white, are depicted as the main objects. Each of the peonies has its alluring aspects, with the peach colored peony pleasant and adorable and the white peony carefree and elegant. YEH Fang used a smoky white shade to outline hillocks and clouds in a misty background at the top and bottom of the painting to create an enticing surrealist visage. Despite working with oils, YEH Fang meticulously portrayed the subtle changes in the color of the petals, creating an artistic atmosphere that seemed only possible in a traditional Chinese ink painting.
