Artist KU Chi-Chun is a young female calligrapher. She creates calligraphic works and shows the monologue inside her mind. In her work Ink Treasure, she takes acrylics as the material and calligraphic characters as the creative form. The work expanded the definition and imagination of modern calligraphy. In the image, the background is red, and the upper right side is the characters imitating calligraphic style. Two Chinese characters “藏” and “墨” are written for indicating the meaning of ink treasure. Besides, the ink is indeed covered and hidden by the acrylic paint. It gives the work the cultivation of double meanings. The artist leaves her signature stamp with gold powder which makes the image auspicious and noble, elegant and magnificent. KU Chi-Chun thinks calligraphy should not be limited to just use ink and paper. Instead, it should be expanded to the written words, so she applies acrylic materials to her creation and experiments on the modern calligraphy in her mind.
