Artist WU Yi-Tze is good at creation of oil paintings. His work Soul Landscape series is a creation taking daily landscape as the theme. In the work Above the Clouds, he takes the material from the usually seen landscape of metal hut and standpipe. In the image, the sky with dark clouds reveals the oppressive atmosphere in the cloudy day. The standpipes and the electric tower erecting in the image like static objects shows an ordinary daily and real scene. WU Yi-Tze explains the relationship of mutual struggle between the internal self and the external reality. He turns the moods of loneliness, anxiety, and sorrow he felt in reality into the concrete landscape in paintings. He hopes to look for the existence and comfort of ego in the chaotic reality in this way.
