作品賞析
In Map Poetry – Taipei, CHANG Po-Chieh examines the relationship between computerized maps and human beings in modern-day life. In an age when tech products are constantly advancing, the way we view maps has been influenced and changed, especially with the advent of Google Maps and GPS navigation. In creating this piece, Chang entered arbitrary phrases in the address field of Google Maps, such as “I love you,” “familiar faces,” “Taipei,” “cute guy” and his own name. The results of these erroneous searches generated random stories, from which he composed “map poetry.” The new meanings Chang produces through such deconstruction and reconstruction distorts the dependent relationship we have with technology, giving the viewer something to think about.
