In “Black Forest”, Artist Lai Yu-ling uses forest as an analogy to present the relationship between self and nature, explores the evolution of internal experience, and pursues the interaction of artistic practice and personal life. Lai uses automatism techniques and intuitive composition to form naturally a poetic atmosphere. The color-block decoupage comes from the reflection and transformation of real world. The artist asks audiences to freely interpret the painting, as if recreating the painting to give it a new meaning.
