Artist CHEN Yi-Chieh has long paid attention to the association among technology, media and life. Due to the high mobile penetration rate in Taiwan, 3C products such as television, computer and mobile phones have become the necessities in life. Everyone looks down and enjoys the world of the screen. The work, “Messenger,” analyzes the human reliance on technology media, where the artist simplifies the human into a messenger with a shape only and without facial expression. The white and radiating head implies the manias and infatuation of human towards the monitor. Yi-Jie Chen points out the human reliance and also the forecast of the future for Taiwan with popularity in smart phones.
