SHI Jin-Hua is an artist who has long been focusing on the creation of conceptual and behavioral art. The Pen Walking series is his representative creations. A "pen" symbolizes the main body of life. In recent years, he has also begun creating the Pen Walking series using medium other than pencils. Pen Walking #156 is made of oil paint and has a completely different texture than pencil. For SHI Jin-Hua, the paint and the pencil are both walkers, and the traces of oil paint overlap each other in layers, as if they have lives of their own and become the witnesses of time. The Pen Walking series constantly explores the relationship between the self and the others, reflecting the undulating trajectory of life.
