作品賞析
In creating her “Scape in Scape” series, artist Wei Meng-Ru drew on the composition of her previous works. She first used rice paper and mineral pigments to create patterns in the shape of the sun, moon, mountains, and water, which she then collaged onto a background painted with fluorescent green acrylic paint. At the bottom left of this painting, a green block outlines a wave-like pattern, symbolizing water. The central triangle, imbued with the image of a mountain, is cut and pasted from white translucent paper. Three groups of circular patterns, each in varying numbers, resemble the alternation of the sun and moon. The artist uses a green palette, a color palette that straddles warm and cool tones, complemented by beige and white to create a neutral atmosphere. Through the layered collage process, Wei Meng-Ru simulates the spontaneous process of people creating social media posts by assembling stickers and text, while also revealing her own authentic emotions at the moment of creation.
