作品賞析
Artist Chen Yu-Jung’s work Relative Resonance was created by collecting sounds and images through fieldwork in Tainan’s Zengwen River Basin. He used the collected sound waves and forced vibrations and analyzed their numerical values in terms of frequency, volume, or rhythm through program calculations, then he arranged different colors according to different levels of audio, giving logic to the color changes through the entire work. In addition to the sounds of the river in this work, there is also the sound of the bridge vibrating as vehicles move across it. For him, the bridges and rivers symbolize the meaning of “connecting different spatial fields” and echo the process of mutual transformation between sound and vision, which is the transformation between the invisible and visible. Through the entire creative process, he explores more possibilities in creating multiple perceptions of sound, image, and space.
