For artist Zhuang Dao Ming, flowers and birds can add elegance and interest to our lives, so he also created a series of paintings centering on this theme. In Blooming Flowers with a Refreshing Aroma, what he wants to express is a kind of beauty and a hope. The colorful painting includes figurative images of azaleas and a Formosan yellow tit (Machlolophus holsti), as well as wavy abstract lines. The artist allows two elements to engage in dialogue. The wavy abstract lines make the composition freer, as if the wind and time are blowing and flowing through it. Since the color of the lines in the foreground is the same as the color of the background, as it weaves between them it creates a sense of space that is both far and near, giving an uncertain sense of distance. The artist chose two species endemic to Taiwan, the azalea and the yellow tit, to express the idea that precious, beautiful things need care. Just as pursuing an artistic career is not easy, you have to work hard and persevere in order to protect what you believe in.
