What do the various shades of green and blue areas and eye-catching oranges in Clumped・Distribution make you think of? Artist Lin Ying-Hsuan actually does not have any preset answer. He does not assign specific meanings to various graphics and hopes that viewers will develop their thoughts based on their own feelings. Lin Ying-hsuan is good at using the colored geometric structures to capture objects in the world around us, recompress them, and then create them. In this work, for instance, he used the various common green hues one often sees in daily life and rearranges their layout, and added his preferred fluorescent orange. Following his instincts, he reflected on his experiences on the canvas through blocks of color arranged in a way that resembles a city map. Since he has been traveling between different cities for a long time, the artist hopes to create a strong geometric sense of space and use color as a bridge of communication to explore the relationship between individuals and cities.
