作品賞析
Artist Lin Huan-Chia developed the creative concept of “alienated landscape” by combining childhood memories with real scenes of the present. By adding objects that have disappeared, such as old railways and old trees, to realistic modern scenes creates a sense of conflict and lets viewers think about the meaning of these fading scenes. The hot air balloon and grassland in the distance comes from the image used in vision test machines when he was a child, while the urban street scene is from Taoyuan, where he now lives. It symbolizes the alienation he feels when recalling his childhood memories as an adult. In search of more saturated colors, Lin Huan-Chia, who was originally good at watercolors, began to study acrylic paints and developed an “acrylic transparent technique” that combines the lightness of watercolor and color saturation of acrylics. He made special use of gold color pigment to bring out the bright misty visual sense of warm light in midsummer, thus demonstrating his innovative mastery of media.
