作品賞析
In Migration No. 4, the Lemurian crystal stands at the bottom, and the heavy piece of unpolished grape agate ore is placed on a slender brass scaffolding, which makes it seem as if it is suspended in the air. Several ants climb over the ore, as if they are miners at work. Artist Huang Jen-Chieh believes that the crystallization process of jewelry ore is very similar to the human life process, and ants, social insects, are like miniature human beings. When he was creating, he was thinking about how to cleverly combine the heavy, raw mineral with a very delicate, light metal structure. With mining as a theme, he combined exquisite structural design and lifelike ants to make the whole work look like a specimen of something condensing an actual scene. The ants who keep mining eventually deplete the mine and then move on to the next place, rather like man’s endless exploitation of natural resources. In the end, when humans have finished plundering the world of its resources, where will they go?
