作品賞析
The artist Lin Chih-An, who is partially deaf, has developed a keen eye which she uses to accurately capture people’s emotions. Most of her works come from her own experience, using people and animals as the main subjects to convey her inner feelings. When she develops a work, she begins with rough sketches with various notes, and then she shapes and molds it. Her Untitled shows a man wearing black pants and white shirt with tie, and he seems calm, with one hand in his pocket, but his body is tilted at 45 degrees and his tie is flying—which makes him appear to be falling backward, but he just calmly stares into the distance, with a somewhat world-weary expression. He seems lonely and detached from things. Lin Chih-An uses her works to express the indescribable loneliness in modern lives, and it is as if she projects her own emotions onto her works.
