The artist Tai Ling-Yu, who has lived in Germany for many years, takes the themes of her creations from daily life. When she encounters scenes that resonate with her, she always has the urge to paint them. Her notebooks are filled with draft paintings and key words that she collects from all over. This work, In the Forest, depicts a scene in Leipzig, where she lives. There is a large forested area in Leipzig, so she often walks there in her spare time. The scene of someone riding a white horse is relatively common in this area, but it was a special visual experience for her. One person’s daily life turns into another person’s magical moment. During the change of perspective, imagination and reality blend, and just like the pink sky and tree trunks in the painting, it might not be reasonable, but it is real. This painting is quite small, only the size of an A4 sheet of paper, but it reveals the artist’s unique feelings about this scene.
